Tiny Blooms

Walking past the black stem pittosporum the other day I was surprised to see some tiny blooms...something I'd never noticed in years past. I'm crediting Garden Bloggers Bloom Day with making me more aware of what's going on in my own garden...having posted about various blooms over the past year I'm now on the lookout for surprises. So I went on a tiny bloom search and came up with a few more...culinary thyme chocolate mint geranium and not so tiny, but eagerly anticipated, the first sweet pea bloom.

I love that you are finding those tiny blooms. Up close, they can be quite intriguing, quite intricate. I'm beginning my flower for bloom day this weekend, too!

Oooh... is that Cupani's sweet pea? I grew that one year and had ONE bloom... but it was deliciously scented, and so pretty. I love the bicolor on that.

The black flowers on the pittosporum looks quite amazing. I find that photographing plants has enhanced my seeing small but interesting things. Sometimes and quite accidentally I've seen things in macro photos wonderful objects I would have never seen.
