Renovated Path

I began renovating the front path several weeks ago. After removing and repositioning the original sandstone pavers I added more to fill in as best I could, given the tree roots just below the surface. Then I planted a low growing thyme to fill in the open areas. However, I still felt there was more open space than I liked so now I have filled in some of those areas with black Mexican beach pebbles. I know I will really appreciate it next fall when I am raking and don't have to attempt to separate out the wood chips (that I want to keep) from the leaves...which was always pretty much impossible!

Leslie, I love your path...I may have to try one myself...once the snow is gone and things dry up!

I love your garden paths. Could you please tell me HOW TO FIND MINI REDWOOD CHIPS in Sac (or even Davis)? All I can find are large splintery chips or the shredded stuff. It's for a planter that's up next to fir siding (that used ro be redwood before a car hit it), so I want redwood chips to keep termites away. Help!? Thanks.

I got them at Home Depot in Woodland...because it was the only place I could find them...I believe they carry them as a regular, year-round item. It's possible any HD would have them. Good luck!

Thanks for the redwood chips source, Leslie, but could I pester you one more time, for the name of the product? (I called your HD store and couldn't get it, and my HD doesn't have it - but could order it with the product name.)

I know where they are on the shelf...but the name??!! Maybe Earthgro brand but I think they are groundcover chips and I know it says something about them being good for on top of the soil in pots...next time I get to HD I'll make a note...sorry I don't know more off the top of my head!
